With FastTest 2010 we have addressed key areas of your everyday activities to help you maximise productivity with the help of new streamlined features and productivity tools. FastTest 2010 really does take Test & Inspection to the next level.

New User Login Features & User Image Association
As well as its new contemporary login screen design, FastTest 2010 brings a completely fresh approach to logging in, with the ability to add images for each user and select from a range of login actions.

Each user account can now be attributed its own icon – using any image you choose – so that when the opening screen lists all current users, each can access their account by clicking on their personal icon. You can use any image
you want, and a new dialog box will not only help you browse the images on your computer, it will also size them appropriately for you.

In parallel, the administrator can now alter how the login is achieved to suit the circumstances. For sole users of the program there is an option to store the password so that clicking on the icon opens the program. Whereas, where
multiple engineers have access, the system can be set up to require either both username and password or just password. This keeps the whole login process quick and easy.

Another handy feature is the new ‘password hint’ option during new user registration.

Integration with Service Manager Plus
Thanks to the new links from FastTest 2010 to Estimation’s Service Manager Plus, it’s now very quick and easy to transfer the electrical test data from a maintenance task to the Service Manager Plus job.The result is major time savings and no more duplication of data entry.This new feature also ensures that electrical test information is included in the overall Service Manager Plus report.

Last Page Bookmark
This great new feature allows you to ‘bookmark’ the last focal point that was viewed on a certificate, so that when the certificate is next opened, you are automatically redirected to the last editing point – indicated by a colour coded field. So you, or a colleague, can immediately pick up from where they left off.

Certificate Pan Control
With FastTest 2010, navigating through an on-screen certificate is now much easier, thanks to the enhanced certificate navigation tool that has been introduced to Certificate Viewer. Simply grab, hold and drag the certificate to the view you want with no need to use the scroll bars.
A great time saver!

Customisable Tabs in Certificate Browser
With the new Customise Tabs feature, you can now open multiple tabs in the certificate browser screen – just asyou might in a web browser – but with a great deal more functionality. Just click on the new tab icon and select your required conditions for capturing data from the dialogue box – with a choice of date, certificate number, client, installation, certificate status or which Qualifying Manager the job was assigned to. Use one of these criteria or a combination, the choice is yours, making the whole process very simple and similar to extracting different sets of data from a database.

Furthermore, using this feature, you can save any information in the tab that you may require later, rename the tab to make it easy to identify, and view it again by re-opening the tab. Because the tab is populated from a live database, the information will always be up to date.You can also drag the tabs to change their order if required.

Enhanced Certificates
Specific certificates in FastTest 2010 have been enhanced to keep you up to speed with the latest developments.This ensures compliance is maintained meeting the latest NICEIC regulations. Included within these certificates are the
Electrical Installation and the Periodic Inspection Report which have seen the circuit details and test results sheets change from 22-24 way.

Faster Distribution Board Printing
Printing Distribution Boards has now been greatly streamlined in FastTest 2010 with the ability to right click on the desired Distribution Board tab, bypassing the standard print dialogue to allow any individual board to be printed quickly and easily.

Draft Certificate Status
Tracking the life cycle of each certificate is now considerably easier thanks to the new at-a-glance traffic light flagging system that provides a quick visual reference of the status of each certificate by using the following indicators:

Red:	Certificate partially incomplete, awaiting client data and/or outstanding test results
Amber:	Awaiting viewing and checking by Qualifying Manager
Green:	Certificate approved by Qualified Manager and ready for Mastering

Each coloured flag is clearly visible in the top left hand corner of the screen and the status can be updated with a single click. Certificate status is visible in Certificate Browser and Certificate Viewer screens. Within the Certificate Browser screen, each certificate can also be assigned to the appropriate person (e.g.Qualifying Manager) for even greater flexibility. And for those who prefer not to use this feature, it can be very easily turned off.

 

 

 

FastTest Mobile brings all of the productivity advantages of mobile working to your business, and in FastTest 2010 we’ve made it even easier to share information between site and base.

Enhanced Email On The Move
This fantastic feature allows you to email the data you collect on site with your PDA/Pocket PC directly back to base, where a simple click on the attachment will instantly update the company’s central FastTest database. So not only are your office systems kept fully up to date but you can also eliminate the need for daily journeys back to the office to synchronise the data – a major time saver that lets you make optimum use of the working day.

It really is as easy as 1, 2, 3:
1. Collect data on site and enter it into the PDA/Pocket PC
2. Email the data back to base from your mobile device
3. Recipient simply clicks on email attachment and the FastTest database is instantly updated

Furthermore, once the email has been opened and synchronised with the database the certificate and an invoice can be emailed or posted directly to the customer on the same day, giving the cash flow a welcome helping hand.

ProDesign 2010 takes electrical design to the next level, with a host of new features to accelerate key design processes and increase efficiency. Ease of use combined with innovative time saving routines and enhanced safety features make this new generation of ProDesign the most advanced yet.

New Powerful Data Entry Module
Providing a brand new way of viewing and entering cable data, this new feature uses a familiar spreadsheet format to ensure high visibility of key information and avoid the need for multiple screens.

Making the application more streamlined and easier to use, it also eliminates the need for Set Cable Length and Bulk Cable Change.

The spread sheet window has the ability to fine-tune positioning to provide an unobstructed view of the drawing or an expanded view of the data entry area.

In addition, the Protective Devices bulk change feature gives you the ability to apply a single set of protective device settings to a selected group of circuits, making full use of the embedded data input, filtering and sorting facilities.

Busbar Diversity
The newly introduced diversity control to the existing Busbar Tap-off form enables you to apply a diversity factor at each Busbar Tap-off, thereby affecting the load ‘seen’ by the busbar.

New Calculation Engine
A new calculation engine at the heart of ProDesign is now implemented.This is the foundation for all future development of fault level calculations.

The new system utilises a Zbus impendance matrix method for fault calculation.The immediate benefits are more accurate results and a clear calculation audit trail.

New Starter Component
Providing enhanced clarity of motor circuit protection definitions, a new separate Starter component has been integrated into ProDesign 2010 with a dialog containing the motor overload setting controls.This also allows you to model a motor circuit with different cabling between the board and starter, and between the starter and motor.

Furthermore, you can now make a distinction in the calculations between motor circuits with motor overloads and those where the entire circuit is protected by an overcurrent protective device only (usually an MCB protecting a small motor).

Auto CPC Upsize Warning
In difficult disconnection situations a Circuit Protective Conductor (CPC) may perhaps be increased to an unacceptably large size to achieve disconnection within the set limit.

ProDesign 2010 allows you to set upper limits on the size of CPC to be used, thus avoiding Auto selection of unacceptably large cable sizes.

Improved Component Template Access
Usability refinements to the Component Templates feature include drop down list functionality on the Construct toolbar, providing faster access when selecting a component template for the item being drawn.

Customisable Quick Results
This enhancement to the existing Quick Results feature allows a higher level of customisation by enabling you to add and remove fields as required and focus on the most relevant information to the task in hand. Another new function is the ability to re-order the Quick Results columns, so you can ‘slice and dice’ the data in many different ways.

Defined Load Calculation Message
When entering a ‘Defined Load’ value in a board ProDesign 2010 will now generate a ‘Calculation Note’message, a handy safety feature that warns when the connected load in any phase exceeds the user defined load.

Minimum Cable Size by Load Type
With increased flexibility of Minimum Cable Sizes, you can now set different sizes for different categories of load types.

Star/Delta Cable Grouping
With the new Star/Delta cable grouping, it is now easy to apply a grouping factor for Star/Delta cabling installed as a group.

Detailed Discrimination Reports
Building on ProDesign’s popular and powerful discrimination check feature, new Detailed Discrimination Reports have been introduced to list all the circuits in the project, whether in error or not, and show all the key parameters laid out in a easy to read format.This makes it much easier and quicker to access discrimination details.

For even greater convenience, this feature offers two separate reports; one for Energy-based and one for Time-current discrimination. Both reports share a similar layout for ease and speed of use, with the only differences reflecting the type of data required to report Energy-based and Time-current conditions.
