What's new in FastTest 2009

NEW Look and Feel FastTest 2009 has been completely re-written to not only incorporate a brand new look and feel, but to make it the most advanced engineer friendly version ever! You will instantly notice the improvements with new easy to use icons, quick links to improve navigation and handy tools to help you sort and choose your certificates, plus much more.

NEW and Enhanced Certificates To ensure you are using the most up to date certificates,we have added new and enhanced certificates to FastTest 2009. NEW Domestic Periodic Enhanced Emergency Lighting Completion Enhanced Emergency Lighting Inspection and Test The new Domestic Periodic certificate now includes 4 page multi-board, suitable for larger domestic installations, plus our enhanced certificates will bring you right up to date with the latest regulations.

Dynamic Certificate Interface
An enhanced look and feel to the certificate interface allows you to quickly view, search and add boards within a certificate with complete ease. You can easily access as many boards as you wish by using the tabs to navigate within the certificate interface. Plus you can re-arrange the boards to suit the requirements of your installation by dragging the boards into position.

It is also very easy to view which engineer has worked on specific boards, great for large installations where there could be multiple engineers working on one installation. Select the engineer to identify the boards they are working on.

Client Server Application
Take advantage of the most advanced and up to date feature for Plus and Pro versions of FastTest 2009. We are giving you even more choice and flexibility,
ensuring technology is working the way you want it. You can now access your database through more ways than ever, using the internet, network or as a disconnected user using the new ‘Certificate Locking’ feature.

This powerful feature means the main database information is always up to date, no more duplicate certificates, no more having to return to the office to update the system. There are no limits for the engineer, working offsite has never been easier!

 

 

17th and 16th Edition Compatibility Module
Although FastTest 2009 is ready for 17th Edition, we appreciate you may still be working on current or older projects so we have included an option to print and view your 16th Edition mastered certificates. This fantastic feature will save you valuable time and effort.

Excessive Earth Loop Impedance Warning
When a “AMTECH Data Check” warning for Excessive Earth Fault Loop Impedance values is generated within a Periodic Inspection Report, an Observation and Recommendation will automatically be created. This will also be hyper-linked allowing you to navigate directly to the test result field.

 

 

PDA Export Quick Link
We have added a brand new quick link to ensure you can export your certificates to your PDA quickly and easy.

Certificate Locking
You now have the option to check out your certificates with advanced versions of FastTest 2009, which will prevent other colleagues from editing or accessing certificates you arecurrently working on. For example, you may wish to lock your certificate and complete it from a different location without having to connect to the main office database via VPN (internet). This is a great feature to make sure certificates cannot be altered.

 

 

Improved Administration
The administration has been improved to ensure ease of use and accuracy. An engineer’s signature and company logos can be added in one place, ensuring consistency throughout.

Certificate Manager
You can access your certificates much more easily than ever before with a user friendly interface. You have many more options when opening a new certificate, giving you much more flexibility. The easy to use layout also helps reduce the chances of you creating multiple certificates when opening an existing one.

Enhanced Security Options
All FastTest 2009 users have their own individual user name and password in which you can set different permissions depending on how much authority you would like to give to each user. This security feature not only helps protect your company from the misuse of data but also prevents inexperienced users accessing and amending different areas of the database.

FastTest Mobile 2009 is here ! FastTest Mobile 2009 is the most advanced mobile version yet.  We have incorporated many new features to ensure you are using the most accurate, up to date and easy to use mobile software. What's new in FastTest Mobile 2009 Multi-Engineer Import This amazing time saving feature enables data from several PDAs to be merged into the main database. This allows a multi-board certificate to be exported from the desktop to each engineer. The data can then be imported back into FastTest 2009 to be merged into one certificate, without over-riding data. This feature will not only save your business time but also allows you to have more than one engineer on a job at any one time, giving you greater flexibility. Auto Import This fantastic time saver synchronises your PDA to your desktop ensuring an automatic transfer of data. No more preparing exports upon connection of PDA to desktop, all certificates marked as completed will be automatically transferred to your desktop. Advanced Certificate Options You now have more flexibility than ever with a new certificate copy option. You can copy one certificate as many times as you like to ensure all of the core details are the same. This feature saves you the time of duplicating details and avoids human error to ensure accuracy. Once the PDA has been synced to the desktop, all client, installation and engineer details are exported to the PDA. This reduces the risk of duplicate details being created. Logo Transfer You can now download your company and governing body logos directly onto your PDA. This not only saves you time but ensures consistency of logos between your PDA and desktop. Multiple Certificate Export This clever feature allows you to export as many certificates from your desktop to your PDA as you like. For instance you may have several jobs in one week, this feature allows you to download all the relevant certificates from your desktop version to be used throughout the week. This is an easy to use function. NEW Certificates Due to customer demand we have now introduced two new certificates for the PDA, ‘Domestic Periodic’ and ‘Emergency Lighting Inspection and Test’. This allows you to achieve even more offsite. New Look and Feel The brand new interface ensures ease of use throughout your mobile software, saving you valuable time and effort.

Switch on to ProDesign 2009 and release the 17th Edition power, with essential new features which make your job even easier. We have added even more to ProDesign 2009 based on what you, the engineer, has requested and with over 25 years of experience, you know you can trust AMTECH.

 

Concealed Cables
This very handy feature helps to ensure you are compliant with the provisions intended in clauses 522.6.6 to 522.6.8 of BS 7671:2008.

When specifying a cable enclosed in a wall, a dialog box is displayed asking about the type of wall and environment. After entering the requested details this feature will indicate whether the proposed installation is COMPLIANT or NON COMPLIANT.

This is an easy way to adhere to the regulations and to protect against the possibility of an electrical shock hazard arising from cables concealed within walls, etc. being inadvertently drilled through or otherwise damaged.

 

Multi-Split Consumer Units

 Consumer Units with three sections are now widely available; ProDesign 2009 gives you the capability of defining additional sections to account for this.

This ensures that you have the software to meet the requirements of current systems.

 

 

 

 

NEW Reports

Board Schedule Report
Due to customer demand, we have added two new additional report formats to give you even more choice. This fantastic feature ensures greater flexibility when producing reports.

Voltage Drop Report
The brand new Voltage Drop report shows all volt drop data in one place, making it easier to identify and rectify any problems. This is a much easier way to locate this information, saving you valuable time and effort.

  Green Energy Loss Module
This brand new ‘green’ feature allows you to determine the load currents and the temperature corrected resistance to calculate your cable energy loss. We have added a new graphic bar which allows you to see the cable energy loss and the maximum cable loss loss calculated, quickly and easily. Plus the calculated value is shown on reports, for complete convenience. You can also assess the CO2 losses produced by wasted energy.

 

 

Enhanced Consumer Unit Circuit Diagram Graphics
As three sections are now available for Consumer Units, the Circuit Diagram Graphics have been enhanced to reflect this and now show a more realistic representation of a consumer unit layout and contents.

The graphical symbols in the circuit diagram are active enabling the sections and the section contents to be defined entirely within the diagram.

We have also added the facility to set the circuit diagram with the isolator on either the left or right, to aid you while designing.

 

 

 

 

 

Cable Analysis Report
This new multi-page report will provide a more comprehensive account of the results of cable calculations.

Quick Report Access
Create cable reports quickly, just right click on a cable on your schematic to produce the cable report. Select multiple cables to view the reports for all selected cables at the same time.

You can now also access your reports through the Errors and Warnings dialog.

A new toolbar button will allow you to re-run the last report instantly after changes have been made.

 

 

  

Tabulated Cable Rating on Cable Dialog
The rating of each cable is now shown alongside the cable size on the cable form. This means finding cable ratings is much easier and far quicker.

Protective Device Filter
The Protective Device Selector now includes enhanced filters to help ensure you are using up to date and supported data. When you click on a device range you have the option to link to information about the range supplied by the manufacturer.

Selectable Max. Earth Fault Disconnection Time
ProDesign automatically calculates the maximum earth fault disconnection time applicable to each circuit as defined in BS 7671:2008 section 411.3.2. Occasionally you may wantto use a shorter disconnection time than shown.

This feature will allow you to use either the auto function or to specify a maximum earth fault disconnection time for final circuits. However, if you inadvertently enter a time limit that exceeds the auto calculated value (i.e. that stated in Table 41.1) a calculation error will appear.

 

 

Whats new in SingleCable 2009 We have added even more to SingleCable, which is now full of new and intuitive features to ensure you are using the most advanced software to meet your business requirements. SingleCable Overload Settings Pop-Up Adjusting devices is even easier, this intuitive new feature provides assistance when making overload settings to devices with a large number of overload settings. Very clever feature giving you greater flexibility.
