New Certificates

How do you create a new certificate?
Click on the New Certificate tab, select the Format and Certificate from the drop down list and then click Create New Certificate button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

What value of Zs does FastTest Live use?
If you select Disconnection Time, Protective Device Type and Current Rating from the drop down lists, FastTest Live will use either the Max Zs values from BS7671 Chapter 41 OR 80% values as supplied in NICEIC literature. You can decide which values are used by clicking on My Profile and then the Settings tab

When I edit certificates I need to scroll left and right as well as up and down. Is this normal?
You have your display resolution set too low. It needs to be set to a minimum of 1024x768 (you probably have 800x600). To change this setting:
•      Select Start->Settings->Control Panel.
•      Double click on Display.
•      Select the Settings tab.
•      Move the slider control to the right until 1024x768 or higher is selected.
•      Click Apply and follow any on screen instructions.

How do you add Client/Site details to the certificate?
Click on the Client drop down list and select the Client.  This will then populate the address information.  Then click on the Site drop down list and it will display all associated Sites for the selected the Client.  Select the required Site and it will auto populate the address information.
Alternatively if the Client and/or Site required have not already been added to the system, then you can click on the plus (+) button next to Client and this will take you to the new client screen.  Enter the new Client details and then click Save, this will then return you to the Certificate you were just editing with the Client details auto entered.  Once you have then selected the Client, you can then select the Site or enter a new one by clicking on the plus (+) button next to Site list.  This will take you to the new site screen where you can then enter the details and then click Save to return you to the certificate with details of site auto entered.

How do you add Company/Engineer details to the certificate?
You are not able to select the Company in the certificates, in order to fill the company details in, you need to select the engineer from the drop down list and then it will automatically enter the Company name and address details.
Alternatively if the Engineer required has not already been added to the system, then you can click on the plus (+) button next to Engineer list and this will take you to the new engineer screen.  Enter the new engineer details and then click Save, this will then return you to the Certificate you were just editing with the Engineer and Company details auto entered.

How do you create a draft copy of the certificate?
In the certificate, scroll to the bottom of any page and click the Create Draft button.  This will then open a new PDF window with a preview of the certificate.  You can either use this to view the certificate, or if you wish to print out to paper, click on the Print icon and select the printer you wish to print to.  When you close the new window you will still be in the certificate view.

How do you print a final (Master) copy of the certificate?
In the certificate, scroll to the bottom of any page and click the Create Master button.  A Confirmation message will appear advising that you are not able to edit the certificate once it has been Mastered, do you wish to continue?  If you click Cancel it will return you to the certificate view and you can continue editing the certificate.  If you click Master, the certificate view will then be closed and return you to the Certificate List view and will then open a new PDF window with a preview of the certificate.  Click on the Print icon and select the printer you wish to print to.

Once the certificate has been mastered, can I print further copies?
Yes.  Click on the My Certificates tab to display the Certificate List. Find the row that contains the certificate you wish to print. Click anywhere on the row to open that certificate to print.  It will then open a new window with a PDF preview of the certificate.  Click on the Print icon and select the printer you wish to print to, and it will print another copy for you.

How do you create a new certificate?

How do you add Company/Engineer (Installer) details to the certificate?
